Single Dads

I’m planning a series that I want to start writing during NaNoWriMo. Initially I thought the first hero would be a single dad, and the heroine a teacher. But I’ve been watching Fringe and am intrigued by the relationship between Peter and his dad. I don’t write kids as a rule. Children had a small role in Breaking Daylight and Don’t Look Back, but only at the end. I’ve never written a kid throughout the book. I usually don’t read books with kids, probably because I work with them all day long.

And if you’ve been reading my blog for any amount of time, you know I’m fascinated by the father/son dynamic, especially from the adult perspective. While I’m not sure how this will play into my heroine’s GMC—she has secrets of her own—I’m really intrigued by this.

What do you think? Do you like reading single dads? And can you believe it’s only about a month until NaNoWriMo?
