Things I DIDN’T Do on my Summer Vacation

Saying good-bye to summer vacation–good-bye to yoga pants and T-shirts, good-bye to my big comfy chair (it’s too hot in that room in the afternoons, until about October), good-bye to my morning walks.

But I finished my book Thursday and a short story Sunday, updated my website, read 14 books…

Here’s what I didn’t do:

Things I Didn’t Do on my Summer Vacation

1)      Go someplace to write—every year I say I’m going to take the laptop to Panera or something, but I never do.

2)      Sew the knit dress I bought the fabric for—and the pattern.

3)      Actually lose weight

4)      Watch Torchwood

5)      Go to the movies, not even once.

6)      Write short story that I planned to give as a freebie to go with Sunrise

7)      Go to the beach

8)      Sit outside to write—too hot, too many skeeters

9)      Go to Sonic for their late-night treats

10)   Watch Supernatural when it’s on TNT in the daytime, something I’d been looking forward to doing (but I didn’t let myself turn on the TV during the day except at lunch.)

What did you think you’d do this summer that you didn’t?

I’d thought I’d go to the movies more often- I still have an AMC gift card in my wallet. I only went once (for The A-Team). I just finished watching season 1 of Doctor Who and now I want to see Torchwood as it was a spin-off from Doctor Who.

I’m afraid my list is going to be similar to yours. The heat sapped most of my energy and ambition.

You accomplished a lot though! Kudos to you.

Michele, I had no idea Torchwood was a spin-off of Dr. Who! I have that in my queue, too.

Thanks, Mary! But you wrote a LOT!

Torchwood has lots of Doctor Who crossover! They kind of intertwine and I watched them that way. It might make you want to go back and watch eps of Doctor Who that will now make more sense.

Torchwood ROCKS. You’ll love it, and I can’t wait until it’s back on! (One word of warning: it’s often darker than Doctor Who, especially the last mini-season.)
