Things I’m Savoring This Last Week

Funny picture–also, I have that throw in my class.

1)      Being outside. One of the things I’m dreading the most about going back to work is the TEENY window I have overlooking…another building. So I’m soaking up sunshine while I can.

2)      Cold sodas in icy mugs. One of the things I discovered this summer is Diet A&W. It’s sweet so  if you just want a sweet taste, it’ll do, no chocolate needed.

3)      My flavored water. (Okay, I have 3 pitchers in my fridge—blackberry tea, orange juice, flavored water in addition to my Diet Coke and Diet A&W. No wonder I always have to go to the bathroom.)

4)      Going to the bathroom whenever I want. Mostly.

5)      Soon I’ll have 30 minutes for lunch. While it doesn’t take me 30 minutes to eat, I’m savoring the freedom to go out to get lunch, or actually use the microwave.

6)      My pool. I love my stupid little pool like damn.

7)      My big chair by the windows.

8)      Listening to the church bells. You know that’s one of my favorite things.

9)      My naps.

10)   Staying up late watching TV/movies.

What simple pleasures do you enjoy?

I like freedom. I like days when I can plan my own day and not have it planned for me by the day job or obligations or anything else. My time is all my own. There are far too few of those days lately.

Yes yes yes, Kelly! I don’t even go to the movies much because I don’t like to have to be anyplace at a certain time!
